WEDNESDAY, 06th December 2006
On the 16th December, 14 students from our college went over to Haresbrook Park - a residential home for old people. The students were there to entertain the old people and to spend time with them.

The day began with an air of excitement. The old people were all seated expectantly in a lounge overlooking a beautiful lake - the show was about to begin!

The first performance of the day was a solo from Wilson (A2). He sang a song by the Beegees. The people seemed truly captured by him and his music - many couldn't take their curious eyes off him!

Once Wilson had sung his song, we had a dance by 4 girls. The music and dance were so lively that they got the people excited. One lady was so excited, she began to dance on the couch!

After the dance, Keith (A2) sang a Chinese song. Despite not understanding the lyrics, the people seemed to enjoy the mesmerising music. The song calmed the people down and had them relax.

But they weren't calm for long because once Keith had sung his song, it was time for Christmas carols. We had 6 different songs to sing. All of us stood together in a circle and sang our hearts out. Wilson accompanied our singing with music from his guitar. It was wonderful especially as we saw the people joining in with us and getting into the Christmas spirit. The people all enjoyed it so much that once we had finished singing all the songs, they asked us to sing them all again!

The day ended with us having some tea with the old people. It was apparent that all of them had had a good time- beautiful smiles from them was the proof.

Overall, all of us had a great, memorable day and we hope to go back one day to once again bring smiles to their faces.
